Owerri, NIGERIA – Dec 1, 2011: First Atlantic Semiconductors & Microelectronics (FASMICRO), a leader in embedded systems and microelectronics engineering in Africa, has concluded training of 33 engineers of Nigerian government owned Electronics Development Institute, Awka (ELDI). The training focused on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and was done with Altera Corporation Cyclone technology.

A field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is an integrated circuit designed to be configured by the customer or designer after manufacturing—hence "field-programmable".

ELDI is the most advanced public embedded systems engineering institute in West Africa and continues to develop core technologies in the field.  They are presently working on revolutionary products which will be deployed in West Africa’s market in coming years. ELDI is indeed a powerhouse in this area and we are truly proud of what they have accomplished in our industry.  FASMICRO was contacted as the industry leader in the region to help deepen their embedded systems skill capacity.  As they expand into FPGA-based designs, FASMICRO is always available to provide technical leadership.

We are very happy to write that we received a grade of “EXCELLENT” from the government institute which is under NASENI, Federal Ministry of Science & Technology, Federal Republic of Nigeria, after the training. Our trainings are disciplined, focused and delivered with local examples we create in Owerri. You will see our engineers showcase solutions to problems you encounter daily.

We use this opportunity to inform private and government institutes (agencies, labs), including individuals and universities that they do not need to travel to India, U.S. or UK for these cutting edge skills. We provide them in Owerri, Nigeria at very competitive prices.

FASMICRO is an official partner of Altera Corporation – a global leader in FPGA, CPLD and ASIC technologies. You can see us listed on their website here.
