Fasmicro, Africa’s leading microelectronics and embedded systems giant, has been certified as a regional training partner with Microchip. Microchip is the maker of PIC microprocessor family, arguable the world’s most popular microcontroller brand. It has market cap in excess of $7bn in NASDAQ.

Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) is an American manufacturer of microcontroller, memory and analog semiconductors. Its products include microcontrollers (PICmicro, dsPIC / PIC24, PIC32), Serial EEPROM devices, Serial SRAM devices, KEELOQ devices, radio frequency (RF) devices, thermal, power and battery management analog devices, as well as linear, interface and mixed signal devices. Some of the interface devices include USB, ZigBee/MiWi, Controller Area Network, and Ethernet (wikipedia).

This certification ensures that Fasmicro maintains its training quality to our customers – universities, government labs and agencies, and private citizens. Few weeks ago, Fasmicro took the Microchip Regional Training Center practical test and passed. And yesterday, we received the letter that we have been certified as a training partner on Microchip technologies. All necessary business agreement documents have already been signed.

Here in Owerri, Nigeria we are committed to help invent the next future, for Africa, through microelectronics and we are building the tools and partnerships to make that happen. Come over here and begin to understand how robots work. Come over here and begin to appreciate the power of circuits. We are experts and we know this trade.

Fasmicro is the only African institution that has design services/training partnerships with two of the world’s most iconic embedded systems companies. We executed a business agreement with Altera last year and now Microchip has come.

Fasmicro Completes Microchip Regional Training Center Program

Fasmicro, the African leader on embedded systems and microelectronics, has completed the Microchip Regional Training Center program. Through this feat, Fasmicro will bring world-class microcontroller training and design services to Africans and their companies.

Microchip, a global giant with market capitalization close to $7bn in NASDAQ,  provides microcontroller and analog semiconductors, with low-risk product development, lower total system cost and faster time to market. It is the provider of the leading microcontroller brand in Nigeria, PIC series.

Fasmicro is very proud to lead in this sector in the region and will use the domain expertise the program has provided us to continue to provide world-class and unparalleled design and training programs in Owerri, Nigeria.

We do hope to sign a formal partnership with this global giant as we did with Altera Corporation in coming days.
